Setting Up Facebook Conversion Pixel in Store

The Facebook Pixel is a powerful tool that allows you to track user interactions on your store and build targeted audiences for your Facebook and Instagram ads. InterFunnels provides a dedicated section for Facebook's specific tracking requirements, enabling you to track advanced events like purchases, add to carts, and page views.

This guide will walk you through setting up the base pixel and then activating specific events on your pages.

Part 1: Setting Up the Global Facebook Pixel

Before you can track any events, you need to install your base Facebook Pixel ID.

Access the Facebook Pixel Settings:

From your Store dashboard, go to SETTINGS.

  • From the menu, select the PIXEL tab.

  • Look for the option labeled "FACEBOOK CONVERSION PIXEL" and click on it.

Enter Your Facebook Pixel Credentials:

A configuration window will pop up asking for two key pieces of information from your Facebook Events Manager.

    • *Facebook Pixel ID : This is the unique identifier for your pixel. You can find it in your Facebook Events Manager under Pixels > Settings.

    • *Access Token : This is a required security key that allows InterFunnels to send data to Facebook. You can generate this in your Events Manager under Pixels > Settings > API access.

    • Click SAVE after entering both pieces of information.

Your base Facebook Pixel is now connected globally! Now you need to tell it which specific actions to track on which pages.

Part 2: Activating Facebook Events on Specific Pages

The real power of the Facebook Pixel lies in tracking specific events that indicate user intent (e.g., a purchase, adding to cart).

Access Page Options:

    • Navigate to your store's pages under THEMES.

    • Hover over the page where you want to track a specific event and click "FACEBOOK PIXEL".

Go to the Facebook Pixel Tab:

This tab is specifically for Facebook's standard events.

Choose and Activate Your Event:

  • You will see a comprehensive list of standard Facebook events. Toggle the switch from OFF to ON for the event you want to fire when this page loads.

  • Key Event Examples:

    • Purchase Event: Activate this on your "Order Confirmation" or "Thank You" page to track sales and conversions.

    • Add to Cart Event: Activate this on your "Product Cart" page to track when items are added to the cart.

    • Initiate Checkout Event: Activate this on your "Checkout Form" page to track when a user begins the checkout process.

    • View Content Event: Activate this on key "Product Detail" pages to track views of specific products.

    • Page View Event: A general event that fires on any page where it's enabled.

Save Your Settings:

  • After selecting your event, click SAVE.

  • You will see a success message confirming the settings have been saved.

Key Use Case Example: Tracking Purchases

  • Goal: Track sales from your Facebook ads to measure Return on Ad Spend (ROAS).

  • Action:

    1. Ensure your base Facebook Pixel ID and Access Token are saved in Settings > Pixel > Facebook Conversion Pixel.

    2. Go to the OPTIONS > Facebook Pixel tab for your "Order Confirmation" page.

    3. Toggle the "PURCHASE EVENT" switch ON.

    4. Now, every time a customer completes a purchase and lands on the confirmation page, Facebook will receive a "Purchase" event, allowing you to attribute the sale directly to your ad campaigns.

Conclusion

The InterFunnels Facebook Pixel integration allows for sophisticated tracking:

  1. Configure your base pixel globally in Settings.

  2. Activate specific standard events on relevant pages via Page Options > Facebook Pixel.

By properly setting this up, you gain invaluable data to optimize your Facebook advertising, create powerful retargeting audiences, and truly understand your customers' journey from ad click to purchase.
